POLAR and MOUNTAIN SKILLS
Fred has extensive experience in the polar environment, totalling 20 seasons including 2 year long overwinters expeditions in the Antarctic and 6 seasons in the Arctic. She also guided groups at altitude on Kilimandjaro, is a rock climber. She regularly works as a guide and/or complement her camera activities with her experience and is a certified guide and current member of both the IPGA ( International Polar Guides Association) and PTGA (Polar Tourism Guide Association)

UNDERWATER
Fred is an experienced diver with over 1300 hours underwater, she trained as a scientific divers on the Great Barrier Reef and became a dive master. She used her skills to film and photograph the underwater world in various places including Ningaloo Reef and the Solomon Islands. She currently is a registered diver with IMAS (University of Tasmania)

BOATING SKILLS
Fred has acquires extensive experience in commercial sailing and watercraft operations, especially in polar waters. She participated on countless Antarctic station resupplies driving jet barges and other motor watercraft, was the mate on Expedition yacht Blizzard, is a passenger zodiac driver on expedition cruise ships and was the owner operator of her own 12 m yacht. (chartered to the BBC) Seeing the bigger picture, she also worked as a voyage manager onboard the Australian Icebreaker Aurora Australis, and participated in XXX polar voyages.
